A few months ago, I sat in a chair, not knowing who in the world she was, and by the end of her last poem I knew all I needed, to recognize that I was blessed to be a witness to the young woman who is Zora Howard.
I've never seen someone of her age speak with such conviction and demonstrate such wisdom. God bless her teachers in life, and bless her for being a true artist who unabashedly pricks her heart with the pen and pours the substance out for others to know.
This past weekend I went to her Book Release and Reading of her FIRST collection "Clutch" I would definitely advise you to visit http://www.poetcd.com and purchase it.
Here are a few videos she has on youtube and without further ado, ladies and gentleman I give to you... Zora Howard
Pen Pals & Poets
My words and those of pens I respect... spoken, written, recorded, rehearsed... even freestyled (only for fun of course). This is the intimate journey of me as a spoken word artist. I hope you enjoy what I'm saying and who I'm listening to as much as I do... you hear what I'm sayin'

Poet Jasmine Mans Pens about Nicki Minaj
I haven't heard anything yet about a reply or comment from rapper Nicki Minaj, but this piece by Mans is a sincere response to the only female rapper in the game right now from a fan, but also and more importantly, a woman, a Black woman.
If heard correctly it will be received as a sister to sister letter, and if Minaj cares about more than her own image, but the whole image of Black women then maybe she will begin to write letters to her sisters in her music.
Kudos to Mans for sharing it in her artistic expression. Mans is scheduled to appear on The Monique Show this week on November 3rd.

Wordplay featuring Joshua Bennett
I just came across this poet randomly; a friend of mine posted a piece he did on facebook --I'm glad they did. The kid is sick and after you watch one video you definitely will want more. Don't worry though, he's been recorded and posted plenty of times -- the dude even spit for Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama. With that said, I know I can end there and let him speak for himself. Mad respect to the gift and to the giver of it. Ladies and gentleman, I give you, Joshua Bennett.

The Sullivan Room: First NYC set
Yeeeeeeesss! Let the games begin!!! Thanks to The SET NYC I had my first New York performance @ The Sullivan Room. This is the first of many more to come. The title of the piece is "A Good Read," and I was inspired from watching this woman read this book on the train with such zeal. Trust I can only give God the credit for giving me the concept. S/O to @CallMe_Robert for hosting the showcase that night, and @Jagsaintjoi , @LBsuccess and @StyleUFamus for hanging with us and supporting.
Aaaannd I have to give @Icanonlybetiffy a shout out for having fun as we closed the show out!
